Since GCID embryonic stage, our outlook has been gearing towards anchoring policy action to shifting international cooperation structures from one of interstate relations mainly between the Executive branches of government to one of global relations or cooperation, which has since highlighted the following three key features of international relations or cooperation as follows:
- he emergence of share values at the United Nations(UN);
- The influential role of transnational relations or cooperation; and
- The growing importance of networks and activist (Global Civil Society).
The shift has become obvious, that the world has moved away from the traditions of a secret society to those of open society. In that, no nation can pride itself of being self sufficient. Hence the need for Nations and Civil Society to foster greater cooperation to make political and economic frameworks conducive for advancing the course of international and multilateral cooperation in order to unravel global iniquities, challenges and complex situations to build a better world for all. This has been our policy direction, our future prospects and for that matter our outlook.
